Default 2008 S2000 new owner

Hi everybody

My name is John. I am 27 and I live in Montreal area and therefore I speak french. So I want to apologize for the few mistakes I'm gonna do.

I own a 2008 laguna blue S2000. I bought it in USA 2 weeks ago 'cause this color ain't available in Canada. It is my favorite colour for this car. It has no mods and had 14k miles on it when I bought it.

I used to be a mechanic and I worked many years in a Honda dealer. Now I'm a real estate agent.

The S2000 is an incredible and awesome car. Never had before such a great sport car. I really enjoy it.

List of to do mods:

- Ct Engineering cold air
- Megan racing test pipe
- Ct Engineering reinforced differential housing
- ACT clutch kit + flywheel
- 4,44 or 4,56 final drive (still debating)
- Flaspro + a good dyno tuning
- OEM front lip
- OEM rear wing
- removing the *&?%@!# delay valve off the slave clutch cylinder

I'm not going to autoX this car, but for sure I'll drag race it a few times. I already got a drag machine. It is a 96 Civic hatchback with a CL Type S 6MT (J32A2) engine in it. Best 1/4 mile time is 12,7, so the S2000 won't suffer too much.

This site has already been very helpful for me. It convinced me of buying the Sumitomo HZR-Z III tires. So far they're doing a great job for the price.

Next thread should be about final drives. Want some feedbacks on the 4,57 FD made by MFactory and Gear-X as they seems to be the only companies who still produce it. As I got the stock exhaust, I don't want too much gear whine as the Richmond Gears 4,57s used to do.

Thanks a lot for this great site a keep up the good work

John

Bonjour & bienvenue! Congrats on your purchase! FWIW, the Laguna was available in Canada, I sat in one at my local dealership before. It was ridiculous priced though (compared to the US anyways).

I've been looking for one here, and the only I could find were salvaged one from US. Also last week I checked with my local dealer for a touch up paint bottle, and they couldn't find the color code.

That's strange ! Maybe I haven't been lucky and haven't seen any CDM laguna blue for sale when I was looking.

Yeah that's another reason why I bought it in USA. A car like mine worth almost 40k here. I paid half in USA. I couldn't afford to buy one in Canada.

Buy seat locks!! I bought an s2000 and seats were stolen in 2 months!!!! If I had to do over, buy a viper 5902 pager alarm and a gun. Have fun, the s2000 was the most fun car I ever drove.

Thanks guys

NNY S2K maybe we'll meet one day I usually go to Plattsburgh each months.

Yeah a Viper 2 way pager alarm is another to do mod.

I used to have a del Sol with a B18C Type R engine, and I couldn't go shopping, to the restaurant or anything with my car. It was a real nightmare. There are so many thiefs around here.

I think there is not as many risks with the S2K except for the seats.

Just knocked on wood
