20CiviC02Si
Hello! My name is Jake Kaminskis my screen name is "20CiviC02Si". I chose this screen name over 4 years ago when i first purchased my 2002 Honda Civic Si (EP3). I'm currently 23, and will soon be 24 come July. I am a Correctional Officer for the Dept. of Corrections in Wisconsin. I have been working for the state going on 5 years now, and no plans on quitting any time soon.
When it comes to cars my main focus has never been on power. The key points i focus on when it comes to modifying a car are suspension, and balance. 1/4 mile times are meaningless to me. I try to utilize what power comes with the car, then try to apply as much of that power to the ground as possible.
Road racing is my passion, however auto-x is a very important learning tool i use to learn a car's limits. My EP3 has served me very well in these two types of racing, however it's time for something new.
My home courses are: Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI), Autobahn Country Club (Joliet, IL), Blackhawk Farms (South Beloit, IL), and Gingerman Raceway (South Haven, MI).
I have always wanted an S2000 due to it's 50/50 weight balance and awesome power plant. This year was the year i decided it's time to make that step up. Currently selling my EP3, hoping that come this fall or spring i will have all my current debt paid off. Once i have achieved this, i will go through with finding my S2000.
Trying to decide whether to buy an AP1 or AP2 will be tough. The AP1 with it's lighter weight and high revving capability is tempting, however so is the AP2's 2.2L torque. Whatever car i choose, should suit me well.
The plan is to auto-x for the first season with the car. I have never driven an FR car of this caliber. I'm excited to see what it's capable of!
You can expect many videos and racing track tales in the future! I look forward to learning from all of your experiences and using them to help obtain the perfect setup.
Hope to see you all out there!
