Hi s2ki ppl
i recently got a red s2k on 7/21/07 dealership only got the red and gray.now after gettin the car i dont like the color the car has 1200 miles on it now got it with 6 miles. should i trade the car in at capitol honda in san jose for the color i want or should i just go and paint the car to color. or just leave it red. plannin to trade or sale car in 18 months

If the car will be gone in 18 months anyway, then I would just leave it red, unless you absolutely can't stand the color (but NFR is beautiful, so why would that be the case??). Trading in the car and getting a new one will be a pretty big loss of money for you, so you have to decide whether or not a new color is worth that much money. The worst choice of all is to repaint it, though.

 

I would keep it. NFR kinda grows upon ppl, well myself atleast. Also if your only driving it 18mnths the loss of money, to me, would outweigh not liking the color. No matter what color it is it still performs like all the others.

 

Wow- you hate the color enough to make you trade the car? Another color will drive just the same. It's not like the car is s&*t brown...

IMO the red is a very nice shade. Do not paint the car if you want to get the best resale.

 

i think red is a great color for the S. i fell in love with the color when i saw a great rolling shot of an nfr with bronze mugen wheels, front lip, and a hardtop. one of my top ten favorite s2k's. now, i do get sick of the silver's, they are everywhere.

 

I absolutely wouldn't repaint if you are going to trade it within the next few years, the whack in value would be huge. Trading it now would also be a whack but if you really can't stand it, it may be worth it to not beat yourself up every day. I wasn't a huge fan of NFR but found a clean one and did an interior swap to tan. Its like a different car now. Something to consider.

 

Find another used '07 on a lot and trade. Your going to have to pay something to do this but it will be cheaper than paying for a new paint job now and the hit you'd probably take at trade in time.

 

Better Idea. Trade for an '06 and tell the dealer your trying to lower your monthly payments. Get the color you want and maybe a few bucks in your pocket.

 

I say just keep it the way it is until the 18 months comes around.
