About to buy my First S2000!
Hello all, I've been lusting over S2000's for a solid decade now. My first car was a hand me down 1992 Honda accord in 2002 when I was 16 so the S was out of the question, wanted one but couldn't afford it in 2004 when I got my Civic SI hatch, almost bought one in 2010 but got a gently used Mazdaspeed3 instead. Been regretting it ever since. The Speed3 has been fun, fast, practical, and pretty much bullet proof, but I still find myself wanting the elusive S2000. Over the past few months I have been keeping my eye out for affordable, local (houston, TX), S2000's. I have noticed that the price of them has significantly increased from when I was looking at them in early 2010. But I think I finally found the one.
Its a 2006 Suzuka Blue with 58k on the clock, I talked them down to $17,700 so I feel like I'm getting a pretty good deal (they offered me $13.5 for my Mazdaspeed). I took it on an hour long test drive and even swung by the Honda dealership and had them look at it. They said everything checked out and that really the only thing it needed was rear brake pads, possibly a tranny fluid change and a rear diff fluid change too. Interior was clean, soft top looked good.
They only thing I'm apprehensive about is going from a roomy 5 door, torque monster hatch. To a high strung roadster. Its not like I use my back seat often but It is nice to have. But after years of research and test driving, I think I'm ready to make the jump! Last time I made the rational choice and went with the mazda, I wasn't happy. Time to pull the trigger!
Here she is, probably going to pick her up tomorrow. You guys think its a good deal?

You definitely will not regret buying the S. It's been 2+ years since I bought mine & I love driving my CR just as much if not more than when I'd 1st bought her. Good luck & hopefully you can join the S family.
This might be a stupid question, but do you have to use the push button to start it every time? I was cranking the key on the test drive and it wasn't working. I for some reason was thinking you could do either or... maybe I'm just dumb.

and welcome...
