Default Advice appreciated on color

Okay...I'm looking at buying a new SK2 in the next two weeks. I'm leaning toward Suzuka or Berlina. However, I've never had a Black car. How much extra care is required for the upkeep if any?

For black, a LOT!

Silverstone
Suzuka
Sebring
White

Yellow
Red

Laguna

Berlina

This is my opinion of the ammount of work to keep them looking nice from easiest (least work) to hardest (most work.) I tried to scale them out where there are jumps in the ammount of work to maintain.

The Berlina will be stay as clean as it takes for you to walk to the other side and realize that some nice brown colored dust has settled on your rear bumper just as you were wiping the sweat off your forehead on a job well done. In other words....You'll love the black when it's clean - if you can keep it clean. The silverstone is the lowest maint. ruexp67 pretty much has the color maint pegged. I think the sebring has the advantage over the suzuka b/cthe blue interior is a little higher maint than the black.

I agree w/ ruexp67's list. My silverstone is very good about not showing dirt, but from time to time i do envy the mirror-like shine you see on really well maintained berlinas.

Keeping a Berlina car looking perfect is an act of love. That said, I don't know if there's anything that looks sharper than a Berlina kept that way.

Whatever you do, buy the color that speaks to you best. I held out for Suzuka in 2002 when they were in short supply and I've never regretted it. Get what you like. But, yeah, if you like Berlina expect to spend some quality time with your car weekly.
