Almost an owner
Hi All,
I'm ready to put my trusty del Sol out to pasture. Just looked at a decent 02 Spa Yellow S2000 with 52,000 miles. Seems in great shape, but it does have one of those cold air intake contraptions installed. Question: does that mean it's had a fast and furious 50,000 miles? It that grounds to keep looking? And what's a fair price for an excellent condition '02?
Thanks!
Bill

Man...everyone is getting Spa these days. Well first of all, I'd say 50,000 miles is decent for this car and that model year. No, a cold air intake doesn't mean that the car was beaten up or anything, but you never know if any other mods were done to it. Just check out the car thoroughly...it's no different than inspecting any other used car.
As far as the price...I bought my 2002 in August from a private seller...it had 15,000 miles, a hardtop, and was in mint condition. I paid $21,000. If you can get a 2002 for anywhere near $19,000 I would do it. But you should be able to get a lower price since the mileage is not very low for a roadster. Good luck

Welcome aboard and there is nothing wrong with Spa
. I have a cold air intake on mine for 1 reason, I love the sound in VTEC. I don't abuse the car none stop though. I would say 17,500 to 19,000 is a good price for the car.
