another bagged Dub to s2k conversion
I come to you from world of VW. this one, specifically: bagged mk5 GLi
it was a great car, I drove it for 3 years maintenance free, but I've missed having a manual and RWD so bad that it just felt like a good time to make the switch. I was made a good enough offer for it, so I sold it.
I started to look for a worthy replacement, and I was ready to get I to a Scion FR-S, and then someone mentioned a s2k, which I really wasn't considering, because of convertible top. And then I researched it. I have 3-5 local car buddies with these, a supercharged, turbocharged, and n/a motor cars, so I researched it some more. Found out that these things are fairly reliable, with spectacular manners and handling. so for last 3 months I've been watching eBay, Craigslist, Autotrader, s2ki for sale section, and Cars.com
my first color choice was , what I know now as, NFR. I chose ap1 for 9k redline. and I chose a '03 because of last year ap1 model. and this past Saturday I flew out to Jefferson City, MO, and picked up my '03 NFR s2000 with 80k mi, 2 owners, clean carfax. drove it back 1k miles, and loved every minute.
I'm a big guy, 6' and 260-270lbs, I've read that it would be a interesting fit, I was worried, but I fit. decent leg room. definitely made for smaller people. one of my things to do on the mod list is to hit the Gym and loose some weight, lol
anyways, I have a few things I'd like to do, and keep the car completely functional, for occasional DE and autocross. usual things, wheels, coilovers, hard top, exhaust/intake. and who knows what after that.
so here's a couple of pics from this past Saturday after I got home:

and upside down!
Whata ya mean "fairly" reliable! Thems fighting words! Just kidding. Congratulations on the purchase. Just a word of advice, drive the car stock for a while before you start modding. A lot of people never experience the "true" s2000 experience before they start throwing on aftermarket parts and from what I can tell you have a clean OEM s2000 on your hands.
Enjoy it for a while as is, or don't, just one mans opinion. Be well

haha thanks! I plan to take a auto-x driving school when this season starts. I used to have a gutted early n/a Porsche 944 that I took there and it was fun, but it's been years.
will have a lot of fun!
upside down? they are normal on my iPad screen! sorry!

I can't wait for nice weather to actually have this thing out on the road! I know I'll be tempted to drive it as soon as it warms up, but I'll tough it out u till it's really nice!
