Default Another new AP1 owner

Hi All - I recently upgraded from a nice '91 Miata with 120k miles...

to an even-nicer '01 AP1 with 26k miles:

It has a new top and new tires. No major mods are planned, I love it as-is.

Thank you, it came from a close friend, along with all service records. He moved to Taiwan and could no longer keep it.

That will last maybe a week! (But I don't consider tweaks like intake and exhaust to be major mods.)

Gorgeous car!

Ha, thanks. We'll see. The only major(ish) mods I did to the Miata in five years of ownership was an updated suspension and lighter/wider wheels. Then again, the stock shock inserts had no damping, so they were overdue for replacement. I generally leave my cars mostly stock.

It's a totally different type of roadster. Where the Miata was built around a more run-of-the-mill component set and had a lower MSRP, the S2k just feels much more special and exotic. High-strung and with a much higher performance level. That being said, I've found myself reluctant to go and run a quick errand in the Honda, whereas I would have done so in the Miata. Maybe it's just being overly-protective of a new toy. We'll see as time goes by.

One thing I do love about NA6 Miatas is that you can wring them out when simply running and errand, and you won't find yourself going felonious speeds.
