hey all,
I just bought 2003 s2 a couple days ago.
I was reading on the forum and figured out that there are two types.
Does it go by year? I just couldn't find out how to distinguish them.
I am not trying to say which is better here.. I am simply trying to figure out type my car is so would anyone help me find this out?

you have an ap1.

 

ap1 = 2.0 liter, 9k redline
ap2 = 2.2 liter, 8k redline, a little more hp/tq, nicer head/tail lights, revised bumpers, different rims, different exhaust tips...

 

Other folks on this site know a ton more than I do, but the AP/generations break down like this:

1999-2003 AP1 F20 2.0L (Gen I)
2004-2009 AP2 F22 2.2L (Gen II)

Also the other major revision (at least in my perspective) is the '06-09' adding Drive-by-Wire and VSA (Vehicle Stability Assistance).
