Default Ap1 vs Ap2

I am in the market to purchasing a S2000.

I have driven both. Ap1 used and Ap2 new.

Are they basically the same car for those of you who driven both?

the Ap2 feels much better. As it feels more stable and wide.

The Ap1 is a bit narrow feeling on the road. Is this strictly due to the bigger wheel and tire on the Ap2?

The extra .2 liters dont make to much of a difference right?

Also what does AP mean?

And the XGA is fake? I completely thought about buying the XGA next year instead.

S2000 platform with SH Awd V6 Vtec? Sounds like a S2000 x 2.

The AP2 may feel better simply because it's new...it's hard to compare a car with 15 miles on it to one that has 35,000. Acceleration is pretty close. i think the wheel/tire setup does help the ap2's a bit. i had the choice of either buying a new '03 or '04 (ap1/ap2) and chose the ap2 simply because it looks better IMO. the only thing i miss is the 9k but as i said earlier the ap2 is not any slower and for some reason seems to dyno a bit higher.
good luck - they're both great cars obviously

Is the XGA fake? only time will tell.

AP1 and AP2 is merely the chassis code. it's in the VIN. for example, all S2ks start with JHMAP1 or JHMAP2.

if the AP2 feels better to you then go for it. there is no measureable performance difference between the two, so don't let that worry you.

Like some have sai already, you can't go wrong either way, go with what you feel is better. I personally love the fact that my AP1 redlines at 9K

This site doesn't only cater to those in N. America. April 1 started long before it did for you and me somewhere in the world.

I use to own a 03 civic and the only reason I got the ap2 was because I couldn't get out of my lease any other way. As for looks, I like the ap1 more. The tails and rear bumper are cleaner and look more subtle IMO

wow, so the AP2 feels "wider" to you, huh? Then you should probably go with the AP2 since it sounds like it suits you better.
