Default Berlina Black - Riding Dirty

I have 0 regrets in regards to choosing black for my S2k but it seems near impossible to keep this car clean, even within mins of a wash. Not to mention the fact that every single scratch is noticeable and apparent. Anyone else have a black S2k and suffer from this perpetual dilemma

I suppose this is just the price you pay to drive a black car... but damn, does it look "clean" when it's, clean

I had a silver (or as Honda would call it, blue metallic) Prelude prior to my S2k and never seemed to notice all those annoying scratches.

You need to hit up a detailer, my friend. Having a black car does require you take care of it more, but it is one of THE most attractive colors if kept scratchless and shiny.

You can obsess about the car's appearance or about driving it - I choose the latter.

But a repaint is probably at the top of next year's mod list.

And the rock chips, door dings, etc.

Do S2000s come in any other color?

No need for a detailer. Spend time in the wash and wax forum and learn all the tricks.

But, yeah, black is beautiful, but it's a bear too.

I agree...

However, seeing as how I will do my best to keep the paint as crisp and unscathed as possible, I'm considering getting a clearbra. Does anyone know if it is just a gimmick or if this really helps with front end damage caused by rocks, gravel etc
Also, if the clearbra is kept on for a significant amount of time and then taken off, can it cause the "covered" area to actually have a slightly discolored look?

Thanks!
