bought an S2000 eariler this year
Fellow S2Kers,
I saw it my last chance to get an S2000 (with it going out of production) so I went and got one finally in March 09. It has been one of my dream cars since it came out 10 years ago. I sold my Mazda Roadster for a few 10,000 yen. I'll get another one back sooner or later though. I love the Roadster (Miata elsewhere) but it was getting old and the clutch was wearing out.
2009 S2000 Type S (like CR but with soft top)
Berlina Black
standard everything

I am driving the S daily to and from work, which is only a 15-20 min drive one way. I broke the engine in at 1500km the 4th week I had it but I admit I wasn't always patient enough to stay off Vtec zone entirely.
Here is what's different from driving the S and the Roadster daily:
S- more precise, better power delivery, much quicker, shifter world class, suspension much stiffer
R- funner at low speeds, sits lower (factory setting)
Before I put down my money for it, I took the chance to test drive a few other cars just in case.
They are: (of course all JDM and stick-shift)
Nissan Fairlady Z (370Z): lots of horses, quick, handles, but the looks and the engine note not my cup of tea
Mazda RX8 (Type RS): an S2000 in 4-door form, silky smooth engine but something felt missing
Mazda Roadster RHT (MX-5): even more fun than before, but really doubt the front grille design, but will buy again
Subaru WRX STi: great seat, quickest of the bunch, hatchback not really my cup of tea either
I also scheduled to drive Mitsubishi LanEvo X but got tired of doing rounds so maybe another time.
Should I go to the CR thread and post my car? It's not a CR per se.
yoroshiku s2ki!
