On the brink of buying an s2k
Hi All,
Been on these forums not so long however really enjoy reading each and every thread.
So for the past 3 or so weeks ive been looking at a 2003 s2000 thats only done about 20,000++ km. Over in my country these cars are expensive to import and therefore are not very popular.
The car comes with a hard top which is nice however when i took off the hard top to have a look at the soft top, to my surprise the back window was not made of glass which i had expected with a 2003 model. It was made of soft plastic which has turned yellowish.
Can anyone confirm with me if there were still 2003 models manufactured with soft plastic. This car, i have been told by the dealer, is imported straight from Japan.
According to the dealer its a 2003 Honda s2000 Type V. Type V from my understanding means it has the VGS technology however there is no VGS steering etc. is this right? or is my understanding of type V wrong.
Since you are all so knowledgeable, i would appreciate if you could just give me some advise on the above.
Thanks in advance guys and girls.

Look for a date code on the sticker that is located on the driver side door jam. That will give you a real indication on the year of the car. It seems like:
a) the dealer doesn't know anything about the car
b) the car has a questionable history
c) the dealer is trying to trick you
I've asked dealer questions about the S2K that I already knew the answer to just to see if they were being honest.
