Default buy off the showroon floor?

Guys- I am ready after I alot of thinking to purchase this beautiful car either an 06 or 07. The 06s are on the floor to move them and the 07s probably are not going to fly out the door here in the NE with winter approaching.

Anyway would you buy a car that is on the floor. I am sitting in the showroom today shooting the breeze with a sales guy I know and watching everyone sit in the s2k and play around with the shifter etc.

I don't care about finger prints or anything else really but is there any reservation about a showroom car purchase or should I pay the little extra and get an 07 outside on the lot?

Thanks for your thoughts.

As long as the car wasn't test driven then I would have no problem with driving a car out of the showroom. I have never bought a new car out of the showroom before though, since they usually have all the options that I never want, or in the case of the S2000, a bunch of dealer options that I didn't want.

I bought my 2006 S2000 off the showroom floor. I had test driven it a few weeks earlier. Shifted well and felt good on the test drive. It had less than 200 miles on it when I bought it. I'm 3 days into ownership and its feel good ... Another car I test drove off the showroom floor, another dealer, had over 900 miles on it and a temporary tag :-( Didn't seem to shift as well, otherwise drove OK.

I would buy a car off the showroom floor if it was...

a) the colour I wanted, and
b) I got a discount.

Yes, yes. Discovered after the sale (with a discount) that it had wheel locks fitted but no extra charge. Also seems to have 'anti-theft' markings that the finance fellow was trying to sell me (I declined the offer) and VIN number stickers all over the place, in engine and trunk.

I'd prefer not to especially if I were looking for a black one. The showroom examples tend to get the dealer detailing and then are touched up quickly with all sorts of rags, all of which equates to swirls. Next, playing with the shifter while the car is off probably won't do thaaaat much damage to the car, but why not just get one without having to think about that?
Only way I'd buy it is if the car was absolutely mint and I got a discount for it. Could just be me being paranoid, but I know a bunch of us would much rather see our cars coming off the truck still in plastic, wait for it to go through the check, and then buy it without having them wash it. If you're going to pay around sticker or invoice, might as well be picky since it isn't exactly 2000 anymore.

I'd get the 07 for better resale value since it's the last year.

Bought mine off the showroom with 11 miles on it. The dealer had a NFR arriving at the lot that day but they didn't want to deal, I wanted GPW anyways.
