Default Can anybody help re Stereo

Hi my name is Debbie and I have just found this site while trawling the net for help on a problem with my S2K's stereo.
It's a 2000 model purchased from Belgium. Have just had a new battery fitted and now the stereo is asking for a code. We dont have a code and never have had looking through all the papers etc that I have kept over the last 6 1/2 years, if I had been given it I would have looked after it. Anyway I understand from the book that if I give Honda the serial number from the stereo they will give me the code, ha ha very funny. My question is how on earth do you get the serial number from a stereo with a car wrapped securely around it. I don't really want to have to take it to Honda and pay them as I am saddened that I was never given the code in the first place (along with many other Honda driver's I have learned today). Can anybody help.
Many thanks

Hello, Debbie.
My guess is you'll have to pull out the radio.
There was a sticker w/ the codes inside the glove compartment when I had my old DC5, but I'm not sure about the S.
Maybe someone else could chime in, and give Debbie a help?
Anyone?

Dan

I had once heard that if you hold the 1 and 6 buttons on some Honda radios it will display the Ser #.

Never tried it. Anyone?

mine was tucked into the owners manual, might try looking through the pages, you might also be able to get your code with the vin number, worth a try a least, I would call honda and ask if there is a way to get your code without taking the radio out.

Debbie you should also try posting this problem in the ELECTRONICS section. Those guys in there are very helpful as well.

Good luck girl!

Well thank you to all that tried to help with this. After another very quiet drive to work today and running out of ideas. I went into Honda, they checked on the system to see if it would be there (knew it wouldnt as we bought it from abroad) it couldnt be found via chassis/vin number and cost me

My stickers were actually placed by the dealer on the owner's manual. Check the front cover for the code. If not, try contacting any Honda dealership. I believe they can help you.

you might have to buy the code if you have lost the original there are companys that find it out in minutes for you based upon serial number and model, try here http://www.car-audio-accessories.co.uk/index.php or http://www.car-radio-code.com/?gclid=CPTCo...CFQbkXgodMy5QRw
