Default Closed Thread ~ 2001 S2000 33k Miles

Ive really only seen people posting threads and asking how much you think a certain S2000 is worth. So I decided to make my own since I just found one 5 miles from me for sale, but it seems a bit overpriced in my honest opinion.

Well here are the statistics.

Mileage: 33,431
Exterior Color: Silver
Interior Color: Graphite

Features: AM/FM Stereo, Leather, Alloy Wheels, Single Compact Disc, Dual Front Air Bags, ABS (4-Wheel), Power Steering, Power Windows, Tilt Wheel, Power Door Locks, Extra Clean, P205/55wr16 Sbr Bridgestone Potenza S-02 Front Tires, Lightweight 16 X 6.5 Aluminum Front Wheels, Anti-Lock Braking System (Abs), Torque-Sensing Limited-Slip Differential, P225/50wr16 Sbr Bridgestone Potenza S-02 Rear Tires, Lightweight 16 X 7.5 Aluminum Rear Wheels, Pwr 4-Wheel Disc Brakes (Front Ventilated), 13.2 Gallon Fuel Tank, Low Back-Pressure Exhaust System-Inc: Dual Outlets, Electric Pwr Rack & Pinion Steering, Jul / Aug 2006

I know most of the features are probably standard on the car, but I felt like posting them anyway.

They are asking $19,999. I think that is overpriced since I find 03's for that price. I am going to go up to the dealership sometime tomorrow and offer them $16k and see what they say.

So what do you think a reasonable price for this car is? I think I am sorta lowballing them with $16k so I can get it priced at $17k.

If you can find an 03 at that price, keep looking. I paid too much for my 01, and while I admit I love the car like it were my child, I wish I would have been more patient and found an 02 or 03 with less miles on it for the same price.

Well I went to the dealership and they wouldnt even let me test drive it because I didnt have my co-signer there if I was to buy it.

They stayed strong at their price of $20,000. So I will just go with the 00' I found for $15k.

you needed a cosigner? How old are you, or how bad is your credit. You can't deal on price if you're a kid, or a stiff

I am 18 and I have no credit.

Thats why I will be having a co-signer (my g-ma) to take a loan from the bank to pay the car off and I finance through the bank under her name. That way I build some credit.

Anyways, thanks for all the info guys. I know it wasnt much but I have found the car I will most likely end up getting.

No offense, but you are getting in over your head. I see alot of younger owners getting into the payments on a s2k, not looking at things like tires and insurance.

new rear tires every 8-10k miles gets pricey fast.

insurance for an 18 year old on a 240hp vert......not cheap.

all that plus a car payment...........think about the entire picture.

I have financial help.

I dont have to pay insurance, it is taken care for me.

As for tires, I will not be putting S02's on it everytime I need new tires. I will most likely end up getting BFG G-Force KDWII's like I have on my past vehicles.

In general, with the S2000 all I have to do is make the monthly payments and pay for my own gas at times where needed.

We have already quoted me at $300-350 a month for a 5 year term. So it shouldnt be bad at all inless I lose my job, which I dont plan on doing anytime soon.

I could just go ahead and get my g-ma to buy the S2000 for me, but I have decided that I want to buy this car with my own money. I need some more responsibilty in my life and this is what I have chosen.

300-350/month @ 5 years, you'd need 0% intrest + downpayment to get into those number.

I have BFG G-Force's on my s2k, and i'm seeing 7-8k per set of rears.

Well I dont mean to sound rude, but I was quoted at the dealership earlier yesterday that I would be paying $300-350 a month for 5 years on a specific S2000 that I havent posted it price. I will take their word for it.
