Considering a purchase
Greetings! I know you guys probably have to deal with newbs like me all the time.
I am currently looking to buy an S as a weekend toy. My previous toys have included: Lifted Jeep Wrangler (currently selling), Porsche 944, and Mustang Vert. My daily drivers have typically always been trucks, I currently have a Titan, but I did have a Acura CL Type-s for a while (now the wife's car).
I was originally leaning towards a Z3 but my friend is pushing me in the direction of an S. Due to cost reasons I'll most likely be going to the auto auction to buy. Anything you guys can tell me to look out for? I noticed the early ones had issues with spark plugs?
I hope to be joining the group soon!

Welcome. Below is a thread that should get you started on what to look for in an S:

Take your time to search these boards, especially car talk. This car is often compared to many others, ranging from Z3 to Miata to Boxter to C6/C7. Lots of info, lots of opinions. Also, try plugging into your local forum. These guys and gals are typically very helpful and a great source of info. Good luck.

Be careful with the auto auctions. They are a great resource for good deals, but you definitely have to know what your looking for or have someone with you that knows the vehicle. Good luck
