Default considering an s2k

Hey guys,

I currently own and enjoy driving a mazda3 hatchback. However, I have recently come into a new job (out of college) and I'm considering upgrading the car or buying a "for fun" car.

Originally I thought I would just trade in my mazda3 and hop into a 2007 g35 sedan or 328i... but now I'm considering keeping the mazda3 and getting in an '05 or '06 s2000 or bmw z4 on the side.

I am curious what your opinions are about the situation. Also, is there anything I should look for or avoid if I decide to go the s2000 route. I def. want to get a hard top eventually. And, I assume there are suttle difference between the 04' '05 '06 and '07 s2000? I've read up a little and it seems I can't get into the cr unless I go '08- comments about the difference are welcome as well.

Anyways, I find its always nice to hear from the community before making car decisions (and you guys look just as active and nice as the mazda forums community) so I look forward to the responses.

cheers
~zach

I would say to go to a dealer and have a drive of one... once you have i'm sure you'll fall in love. I just can't stop smiling when i drive mine on a sunny day with roof down... and the looks you get from this is amazing

They usually don't break (Honda) and are very well built, lots of aftermarket parts so it's all goood

hey just for some input my uncle used to have a Z4M and I own an 01 S2K...He let me really test the limits of his z4 and I can say while the z4 was alot of fun to drive I really like my s2k alot more and I think its because it feels more raw since theres no traction control, I know you say your looking into an 04+ but thought you might like to hear from someone who has driven both of those cars...if you would like anymore input you can pm me and id be glad togive you some more specifics

good luck with your decision
Chris
