Default Convince me to not buy a 2003 s2000 tomorrow

Hey guys,

I come and go on this site, but enjoy checking in now and then. The s2000 has once again sparked my interest in terms of economy, performance, convertible, low maintenance and general reliability. I located a 2003 s2000 in sebring with red interior. Motor and exterior are completely stock. Exterior needs a few minor parts(rear bumper, new top in time since it was cut, rear tires and a good wax job). Mechanically the car is sound and drives as it should when i checked it out yesterday, owner was a prior honda technician actually but NYC commuting has taken a toll on the body.

Has 65k miles, carfax lines up mileage and one minor accident on a clean title, no gear grinds and vtec works as it should.

Seller is a nice guy, he is asking 8,500 firm for the car. Convince me not to buy this...i just bought a 2001 525i bmw and would be selling this and using the honda as a daily...

and FYI single male, mid 20's, no kids, no space needed what so ever..so no lifestyle factor is in play either. Thanks for any input..

i'm in my mid-20's, no kids, etc...too. i would just be lying if i said you should not get it. as long as you have done your research and prefer an AP1 over an AP2.

I recommend finding a good one and getting it before any lifestyle factors come into play.

Great check list. Going to look at it one last time tomorrow with cash and buying if it seems good. My father owned a 2000 s2000 for four years up until about last year, so i know how they drive, shift, brake as well as handle etc.

Appreciate the feedback.
