i cannot stand loud exhausts, i dont mind it at 6k + rpm but at freeway speeds i need my quiet. I drove a s2000 with a spoon exhaust and cai, sounded great on vtec, way way too loud and far too much drone during normal driving.

 

do you plan on ever going FI? if you plan on going with a supercharger, i'd start off with some 4.57's and AEM EMS. these two mods will give you a nice increase in acceleration until you get your SC w/3" exhaust. if you plan on going turbo, you can either leave in the stock gearing if you're going above 350whp, or you can get some 4.44s if you're gonna stay around 300-350whp. if you dont plan on going FI, i would get some 4.57s or 4.77s (depends how much highway driving you do), a VAFC, test-pipe (or HFC that outflows the stocker), a cai and exhaust (fujitsubo, borla, apexi ws2 are quiet). hope that helps
