Default Current Prelude driver, future s2k driver

Hey guys, how's it going? I've been lurking the forum for a month or so and thought it was time to post an intro thread. My name is Garrett, and I currently drive a 1998 Prelude with basic mods and will be looking for an s2k in the next 10 months or so. I enlisted into the Air Force back in June and am set to leave February 26th for basic training in San Antonio, then to Biloxi, Mississippi for about 7 months for tech school. I'll be saving my money while i'm away and will fall into a 20k bonus when I come home (half when i come home, half after 3 years) and I'm wanting to reward myself with my (affordable) dream car! From what I've seen, an ap1 in reasonable condition can be had for under 15k and I have read the "what to look for" thread, so I'm going to take my time finding the right one. If you guys have any suggestions, I'm all ears!

I'll leave you guys with a couple pics of my Lude:

And one from the day I was sworn in:

Thanks man! I'm more interested in the ap1 for the f20c, but it will all come down to the test drive of both. Which would you prefer for daily driving?

IMO for daily driving the AP2 is hands down the winner.

EDIT: To clarify, I like the additional torque of the AP2, as well as the traction control (which only comes on 06+) for the street.

For $15k you should be able to find an 04 in good shape, but it won't have the traction control, so it really comes down to torque.
I didn't hate the torque/power delivery of the AP1, but I could def feel the difference with the AP2, and I really appreciate it since I daily drive my car.

Welcome to the S2000 forums dude! And I might be selling my S in the future simply because I am looking to save up enough to make a down payment on an R8! = )I have a Berlina Black 2002 Honda S2000 AP1 red interior and everything is stock except for the K&N Filter, the Invidia N1 Dual exhaust, and my sexy TSW rims (http://www.modbargains.com/images/Pr...te-Black-2.jpg)! This baby roars like a lion in the streets of Los Angeles! I am very happy with this car's performance and completely grateful that I had the chance to drive such a great piece of machinery like this at only 22 years old = )

I will be posting pictures and a youtube video later on. But hey man, if you are still interested in getting one for yourself, let me know and shoot me an offer. = )

After owning 2 S2K's and having the privilege to have driven AP1 00, Ap1 03' Ap2 05, AP2 07, AP2 08 and the AP2 09. Like the above poster has mentioned I really like the rawness of the Ap1 but the torgue does make a difference in the Ap2s. Also traction control is a nice bonus for the 06+. There were minor changes for 08-09 and I can feel a difference in the suspension and the car feels smoother then the previous AP2's. Best of luck to you, I was going to join the air force and go the same route as you, but decided to finish my bachelors and maybe enlist after as an officer. (If i cant find a job)
