Default Deliver, Ship, or Pick it up?

I got on the lease deal for the 06 and the car is a new build shipping to Lima, OH which is about 150 miles away from here.

Now the question is do I have one of their drivers go pick it up (for free), do I have them flat-bed it here (for $400), or do I drive down there and pick it up myself (my time)???

My last S had 11 miles on the clock when I got it and I babied it until well into the break in period.

The dealership has assured me that it wouldn't be driven over vtech by their delivery person, but my g/f seems to think that these delivery guys are all punks since she used to work at a dealership.

Any insight as to what I should do?

This is a "no brainer"

Take the day off and pick it up!
I would.

Have FUN driving your S2000

Go get it yourself and enjoy the ride home.

Definately pick it up. If you have the opportunity you would be dumb not to take it.

We just got back yesterday from Bonnaroo (11 hours each way) and are going up to Traverse City (4 hours each way) next weekend so I don't think I can convince my girlfriend to take an extra 5 hour road trip to Lima, OH.

Looks like my choice is between having some guy drive it or having it shipped for $400.

I guess I'm asking if I'm making too big a deal about some guy driving my new car 150 miles. I'd rather not fork over another $400, but as insurance that he won't drive it like a jackass or vtec, it sounds like a decent proposal.

This sucks.

check out having a car service drive you down. it might be cheaper than shipping, and you get to enjoy your car.

Now that is a good idea! I didn't think of that. I'll call my guy and see if I can pull it off.
