Default didn't get an s2000 but....

Hi, you might have seen me post 1 or 2 posts (look at my user info) but mostly i've just been lurking around the forums for a couple of years

I'm 17 and last year i purchased a '93 mazda rx-7 with an ls1 swap with some mild cams, ls6 intake, custom 3in exhaust, and a custom CAI. Well after a few months I decided to sell, due to the fact that i wanted something to be more streetable, my parents wanted me to sell my daily beater as well for more space in the garage, (and i was going to have to put 3000$ into lsd and axles) just to get traction! dynoed at 365 rwhp and 355 rwtq untuned (i have pics if you want me to post them later)

but basically what i am asking is, would moving from an ls1 2800 pound vehicle to an 04 or 05 s2000 be a good transition? I mean, i love the s2000 its sleek, sexy and puts out some power with the 2.2L, but this question is for all you guys that went from V8 to s2000, would it feel to wimsey? powerless? would i miss the v8?

thanks

Brian

EDIT: i posted my age because the last post i made was for the topic "are powerful cars for teenagers" or something like that.

Please clarify. Is your mommy and daddy buying it for you, or are you using your own $$?

If your parents are well-off, then you should have no problem affording the maintenence and insurance (which is the biggest problem since you are only 17).

If it's your own $$, you are better off saving it and using it for college or trade school.

A few years ago I had an SS with an LT1 in it. and I have driven several LS1 vehicles.

...anyway, I seriously considered buying an S2000 for a long time, but ultimately bought a 350z. However, I have driven my friend's s2000 a few times and, it is pretty much exactly what you are expecting it to be.

Yeah, it is gonna be way less torquey (is that a word?) but in the high RPMs it is great.
To put it short: you won't be bored driving it.
