Default Do highway miles count?

Hello, all.
My name's Dan and I FINALLY became an owner of an 07 silverstone!!
I picked up my S from a dealer in Chicago, and drove 250 miles to Detroit.
I can't believe how tight the car is!! I'm still sooo excited I keep peeking thru my office window every 5 minutes!
It was tough trying to keep the rpm under 5k on my way back, and I still gotta wait another 350 miles until I can go VTEC.
I know it's a dumb question, but do highway miles count as break-in? I've been cruising 75-80mph all the way, so I didn't get that much chance to go thru all the gears.
Any info/reply would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Dan

Every mile counts.

Try to vary your speeds a bit during break-in, IOW don't drive the whole break-in at a constant speed.
Take the back roads, shift a lot, etc.
That way your transmission, diff, brakes, ect. get a nice and proper break-in as well.

And keep your eye on the oil level.

^ Great advice. Yes, vary your speed.

That's a good question. If you're doing mostly highway miles, you might consider extending your VTEC restriction another couple of hundred miles for break in.

Thanks for your advices, guys.
Yeah, that's what I thought regarding the highway miles.
I guess I'll have to wait until about 800miles.
Thanks.

I drove for about 280 miles back from dealer to home with a new car as well. I had to vary the engine speeds in a tight band on the hwy ... so sowing down and accelerating, downshifting, etc from time to time. Other people weren't too happy about that (I did in the slow lane)

It's a wild feeling when the v-tech kicks in.
Another unique feature about the car.

It's hard keep it under VTEC in break-in!!!!

Well, I managed to keep it under 5K until 800miles Then gradually brought it up to redline
