Default Drag racer learning to turn :)

Hello all,

My name is Jay and I am new to the S2K. I live in the Raleigh/Durham area of NC. Im an avid enthusiast of anything fast! My background is mainly V8s and have owned many 10, 9, and even one 8 sec 1/4 mile cars over the years. The S2K has always been in my top 5 of desired cars. When I seen the 05 on the lot I figured it would be out of my price range but my G/F had me stop to look. Salesman put me in the seat and I was hooked. I had to have it so I pulled the trigger and here I am.
The last month Ive been daily dutying it and although its an awesome car driving it 100miles daily is beginning to be costly. My Accord was getting 32mpg and the S2K is averaging about 21. No doubt its because I get into VTEC way too much... its just my nature. So my plan is to grab up my Accord back and use it to daily and give my S2K some BALLS!! Turbo is where Im leaning although superchargers are nice option as well. Any opinions for this old timer noob?

if the title of your thread is what you want to do, i highly suggest you leave forced induction off the car until you learn the characteristics of the handling...S2K's can be a handful at stock levels for someone not experienced with them...i dont want to read another "i wrecked my S" thread, so try to get into some auto x events and track events if you can to learn the car...be safe and enjoy it

I agree. Enjoy the car to its full capacity before adding force inductions. I'm surprise you are getting only 21 mpg. I'm happy with 26 mpg. Then again, I rarely hit VTEC. I only do it under bridges and inside tunnels.

Thanks for the welcomes. I doubt Ill enter any twisty events beings Im still interested in straight line racing more. Id like to "think" Im smart enough to know my limits and not twist up the car. I absolutely love it and hope that doesnt happen. Strange to me to like a car so much that has less than 1/4 hp Im used to LOL... Yes I have dynosheets for 1100HP for a big block Mustang Still this car is my favorite out of the 370 Ive owned

Yes my most recent 90 Miata made number 370 that Ive had insurance and tags on. I know its crazy but Im known to move lots of vehicles. Actually had the plate ForSale for awhile but gave it up when I sold my 72 Camaro. LOL... NC has sent me letters on several occasions stating I needed dealers license hahaha..
Anyways I am actually pretty comfy with my 3 vehicles I have right now although the Accord may be swapped for a truck of some kind soon? Not sure if I want to daily the Miata just yet though. For sure the S2K is not pulling daily.

Mic the 1100hp ride was a 1990 Mustang coupe with a stroked 557 cubic inch big block V8. I have a few pics but my photobucket is being retarded right now Are you on any of the local racing sites for the triangle?
