I've been an S2000 fan for a long time and I got serious about looking for one about six months ago. I have one of my own in the garage now! 2004, Rio Yellow, 82,000 miles, 10/10 VINs.
I was ideally looking for an unmolested version, but came across this one, oddly enough, at a Buick dealership. It had been traded in. Vehicle had Koni Yellow adjustable shocks, Mugen cat-back, Karcepts front anti-roll bar and links, black valve cover. Seemed the previous owner did some high quality additions to it. I think the dealer viewed these as detractors and helped me get the vehicle for I think a fair price First day I had it I changed the oil/filter and got the dealer's AC Delco filter off it and a PCX-004 on it. Did transmission fluid, what was in there looked pretty good. And also did the differential fluid. Gave some Shin Etsu love to the seals as well. I pulled a spark plug and was a good condition NGC PFR7G-11S (good). Brake fluid and clutch fluid look good. Looks like the previous owner was an enthusiast, probably did some autocross, and took good care of the vehicle. From the look of transmission bolts, I think the trans has been pulled before and maybe some clutch work has been done, but I can't tell. I'd love to find the previous owner and get some history. I'm guessing the stock wheels have been powder coated and they are gloss black.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to my experience with this car. So far it's been a blast and nice to have a manual transmission back in the family!
Congratulations, looks good, consider repainting the wheels to Silver or Anthrite, unless you personally like black? How was the condition of the interior?
Handful of fresh photos!! Interior in pretty good shape - some wear on steering wheel, but the driver's seat surprisingly in decent shape. I have a black leather/yellow stitch shift boot on the way. I also found that the TCT is a Billman GenX, so that's a nice surprise. I do prefer the stock color wheels to black, but at this stage, I'll live with the black. Previous owner like the yellow/black combo. In a perfect world, wheels would be stock color and valve cover would be red (not black), but hey, I gots myself an S2000 so I'm a happy camper!!
