Default Finally after months on end I got an 02 s2000

Sorry for bad pics, flew in from LA to pick car in SF, 2002 with 42k miles.

Been lurking for such a long time that I finally got one. Not really sure what to think, scared a bit to be honest. Hope the car will be reliable for a long time.

I think I hear knocking sounds in 1st and 2nd gear though, other gears run smooth.

Do your shifters vibrate a bit in gear? It moves say 2 to 3 cetimeters wobble in gears at speed, I came from a veedub where there was no vibrations. Maybe I'm just going crazy!!!!

Cheers hope to meet some of you guys and gals!

Congrats man.

Now to ensure reliability, Change your sparkplugs and torque them properly, also change your valve spring retainers.

Two of the most commone failure points on the S2K.

Thanks I will order them asap and try to change oils for engine, gear and diff.

Still finding it hard to get info on the site, search function is not one of the better ones on this site unfortunately.

But people have been nice!

I had no clue about valve spring retainers. I must look that up.

Good luck with the GTI. I had an 03 but vr6. I loved that car and still miss it!

Took a while to sell but then I got impatient and jumped and got this car. Prob not the wisest thing but price was ok. Problem with paint that will end up costing a bit.

Anyway, yes, the shifter vibrates like madness I actually like it that way hehehe The S's tranny has direct linkage, so this is normal ...

Enjoy your new ride!!!
