Finally bought a S2000!
Hi fellow S2000 enthusiast. My name is Cam and on 12/27/06 i finally purchased a 2003 GrandPrix White S2000. Here's my story of how i stumbled upon the S2000.
In 2004, i became very interested in vehicle handling dynamics partly due to influence of a friend and my passion for the automobile. In August of 2004 i found a platform that really suited my need, a 1993 Red non-turbo MR2. It's because of the vehicle that i was able to understand handling dynamics. It was an extremely clean under mileage MR2 and i loved every bit of the car. Sadly in Feb. 2006, i was involved in a traffic accident where another driver took out my front. The vehicle had grew on me so much that i had to find another one....maybe step up the power a bit and find a turbo model. I disperately searched for another clean example, and found a few but the prices where unjustified. 93-95 MR2 turbo's are fetching for more than $10,000.00. As much as i loved the car, i wanted to experience a newer, up to date vehilce. Although i did find another MR2, i ditched it because it was going to be a project, and i didn't want to deal with it.
Setting my budget (25-30k) for a newer car the first thing that came to mind was a used NSX. I wanted another Mid-engine sports car. After thinking it through, it was going to be a bit too much if anything needed to be replace/repair. The next logical choice is ofcourse, the S2000.
So i decided to join S2ki early 2006 and lurk around to find out as much as i can about the car, and i found out really good things. After a month of evaluating, i was set on a finding a MY02-03. First i really liked the Sebring Silver but white was the color of choice at the end. I actually didn't plan on buying this car this late in the year because i live in MN and we get snow. snow= salted roads. I planed on making a purchased early spring of 2007. On 12/23/06 i was just browsing through autotrader and stumbled upon the exact S2000 i had picture. I wanted a 2003 white S2000 due to the tan leather interior. The S2000 had only 15,800 miles and was only fetching 21800 at a private dealership, i thought that was a good deal so i called the dealer and made the purchase on 12/27/06. I won't have a chance to enjoy the car until all the snow is gone and salt washed away by rain, i await that day.
We'll this is my story and how i stumbled upon this great vehicle. I know i'll learn a lot from this site. Can't wait to attend some meets.

Ended up selling both MR2's together. Took a pic as it was trailer away.

I love the HID's on the vehicle, the visibility is awesome. After driving it around at night and taking some pictures, it finally started to snow a bit here in MN so the car will be in the garage until old man frost passes by.
congratulations! how do you like the tan interior? i am looking for a MY02-03 as well, and i'll pretty much take any color i can get...i'm in NJ and the most popular color here is silver (mostly sebring). i've also seen a few GPW'w w/tan interior, but i haven't seen them in person yet so i'm not sure if i'd like it...

Congrats on the new purchase!
Moving from an SW20 to an AP1, my friend is in the exact situation, EXCEPT reversed, going from an MY03 AP1 to a non-ttop 3gste swapped SW20.
Enjoy your S2000 and let us hope there are no unfortuante accidents

First thing I noticed were the HID's on the pictures
And the tan is really nice and keeps the interior bright even with the top up.
Enjoy your new ride, it looks very good all the way up to 9000
