Finally dove into the deep end!
Well after a long time of paying back debts after graduating school and getting a good jerb, the girlfriend and I decided to look into buying a fun car for the both of us.
Let me first say she is very picky; there is a huge amount of cars that I would enjoy within the price range that we were looking at but we had to find something for the both of us. We first checked out the 2010 370z roadsters that were being sold for DIRT cheap from the dealers trying to make room for the 2011 models. We got them to come off about $2k under invoice on a 6-speed manual car. It drove like a dream, far far better than the truck-like 350zs that I've experienced.
Well even that number went a bit outside of where we wanted to go on a single vehicle, so she began looking at the hardtop 370zs and AP2 S2Ks. I've always liked the S2K and secretly wanted one so I could have it as a daily driver to replace my tank of a Yukon. Well, we checked and saw that if I did dump my Yukon and she took a 370z hardtop as a daily driver, that we could both have the cars we wanted.
So here I am, proud owner as of 7/9 of an OUTSTANDING condition 2006 S2K. It only had 34k miles and looked as if it had been kept in a garage most of its life. I could not believe how good of a condition the car was in; it was literally new minus a couple very small rock chips on the front fascia.
We also ordered a 2010 from a dealer willing to bargain with us on a diamond black 2010 370z 6-speed. VERY fun car too and both of us will be switching back and forth between cars.
I'm an oldie from the 2jz NA-T crowd, not sure if I know anyone here or not, still wanting to finish up the SC300.
TL;DR: Got lucky and ended up getting an 06 S2K in great shape and a new 2010 370z!
PS: hoping for a supercharger kit to come later!

And 370z pics will come later. Car will arrive at the dealership tomorrow morning but we won't be able to go pick it up until Friday.
I loved the Z, the powerband was incredibly linear with no weak spots. The car felt just perfect all around from power to handling to braking. While I think the S2000 still handles a bit better due to its weight, the driving dynamics are strikingly similar (steering feel, body roll, etc) and the Z has the edge in braking and outright grip.
