Finally got one!
I joined this site back in 09 to learn more about S2000s. I was driving a 2005 Subaru STi at the time and was already pondering driving something different, so after a good 5 years of Subie ownership, I parted ways with it earlier this month. After driving an AWD turbo sedan for over 5 years, I knew I wanted an agile RWD and especially lusted after the BMW M3 (E36), the "poor man's M3". Shortly after selling the STi, I found a ridiculously clean, mechanically sound '99 M3 that came with a fat binder of maintenance records but at the last minute was outbid by another buyer by $1k, which I did not want to match. Back to square one, I spent the next couple of weeks searching for and looking at various E36s. But after learning more and more about those cars, I decided a newer, more dependable car was what I wanted. My cousin owned a Suzuka blue AP1 before so I was fairly well acquainted with these cars.
So enter the S2000. I found a car for a fair price last night and after some banter and a good test drive, I fell in love with the car. So, I pulled the trigger this morning!
It is not exactly a example of cosmetic perfection but it will do for my daily driving needs.
985xx miles on the clock. Here's a hipster-rific instagam pic of it here:

Mods: K&N FIPK, metal shift knob (early OEM AP1?) and what appears to be exhaust tips.
Gonna check in at Ballade Sports tomorrow for a compression test/valve adjustment!
On a side note, my insurance premium for the S2k is about half of what I paid for the STi.

A near 1-million mile car in this condition would be epic to say the least.
I live in Southern California so top-down all year long!
Compression results:

Damn healthy for a near 100k mile car I say. Alex @ Ballade was very helpful and extremely informative. After the valve adjustment the car idles and runs even better!
