After YEARS of incubating the idea of owning an S2000, I finally pulled the trigger prior to Thanksgiving on a 1-owner AP1 in excellent mechanical condition and very good exterior condition. My first car was a 1983 Toyota Celica GT, and it set a deep hook with me on the joy of rear wheel drive cars with a sporty nature. I even drove it down Vail pass in a blizzard without chains (fully loaded with three friends and gear though). Spent a couple years with a FWD Pontiac Grand Prix (out of necessity mostly) before I got a used 1988 BMW 325 (eta model), 5 speed. Great car. LOVED that car. Anyway, had to sell that when the kids came, and as the years progressed, I thought the days of lightweight, rear wheel drive cars with limited slip differentials and no electronic controls were a thing of the past... My BMW 530i was a great great tourer, erroneously sold that for a 2009 BMW 335i thinking it would be fun and sporty like my Toyota and e30 BMW, and boy was I wrong. I grew to HATE the 335i. It was heavy and BORING- it took me out of the driving equation. Part of me figured maybe it was me just getting older and my memories of the joy of controlling the car and grip in the corners was an illusion from my youth, THEN I FINALLY DROVE an S2000 and it all came back with a flurry. I bought it on the spot. My wife thought I was crazy. I will never sell it. I want to drive it now.
