I recently brought an 05 Rio Yellow with 140k after months of searching. I’ve been wanting to a S2000 for many years but have gone with other cars instead. The current market is insane. The amount of parts being discontinued is concerning. The car needs a bunch of work and buyer remorse is kicking in.

Also obtaining private message abilities is so difficult on this site. I hope this post helps with that. Tackling TCT is a priority.

 

Private message ability is as simple as becoming a member vs merely a user. $20 and you've got full access. The @Billman250 TCT will probably solve any issues you have. 20 minute installation with a 10mm socket wrench and paper towel. Take minimal care and you can do it in business attire.

The last S2000 rolled off the production line 15 years ago (!) * so you're correct that OEM parts are drying up almost daily so I practice Preventive Maintenance as much as possible. I put Billman's TCT on this car as PM 10 years ago before any symptoms of TCT problems raised their heads. Good tires. Good POL. Correct special oil filter. Oil analysis annually. No abusive driving -- OK maybe a little.

* I'm amazed the S2000 has remained relevant this long and in daily service my many here. Prices reflect condition.
