Default First topic - big gay spoiler or not?

Hi all,

Have now owned a '09 s2k GT for 6months, love it.

I have recently brought a seibon carbon bonnet, and i'm now looking at a carbon boot/trunk with a big gay voltex 1S spoiler/wing!

Wondered what your thoughts were on big gay spoilers/wings for the s2k? Which one would you have?

Voltex 1S:

I personally wouldn't get one, unless I was doing some serious track driving. But I don't think they look bad.

Do they really make a different with downforce? You surely would have to be going over 120 to notice a difference.

Same here. Track sure, but they look ridiculous for street driving. But I'm not a carbon-fiber fan either.

Yes there is a large and noticeable difference. The track guys don't buy them because they're pretty.

I read somewhere that the wing on the Viper ACR creates 1000bs of downforce at 120mph. So other wings still make a noticeable amount of downforce even at low speeds.

I personally hate them on other cars but it looks good on S2000 IMO

I am probably going to try out as well and if I don't like it, I can always sell it as used.

Welcome. I'm not a big fan of a huge spoiler myself. But you should do whatever you like.

Have fun!
