Default From FL!

New to the forums, just picked up an 05 in Sebring Silver with black/red interior. 118k on the clock. It's my first S2000, first convertible, and my 6th Honda. I'll be throwing a few mods at it; but, basically going to keep it close to stock for now. Short term plans are to perform maintenance that needs to be done, then an intake/exhaust setup, and throw the RPF1s I had on my WRX on it. Going to be my weekend warrior, sold my 2016 WRX to buy this and a 2010 Fit Sport 5spd for a DD.

I'd ask what's recommended to do to a car with this many miles but I'm sure if i search theres a thread.

Are you sure the RPF1s from your WRX will fit on the S?

Congrats! What part of FL are you from? I'm new to the club too, just picked up my 02 with 43k a couple months ago. Post up some pics when you get the chance! How are you enjoying the S2000 compared to the WRX? Be careful swapping the wheels over. The S2000 requires very high offset otherwise you risk thrashing your fenders without some modifications.

Congrats! I'm curious to hear your impressions on owning the Fit + S2000 vs the WRX. I was think of going the opposite way. Trading/selling my CR-V and S2000 and getting a new WRX.

Yes they will. I had a 2016 WRX which was 5x114.3 17x8 +40 offset and 67.1CB.

Central Florida. One day with it and I'm loving it so far. The WRX was a great car, loved the low end torque, the space, etc but it lacked that visceral feel of the older WRXs and even the current generation STI which I owned previously. I go through cars like crazy. My family is growing so I sold the WRX took the cash bought an S2K and a Fit and have money left over to put into their college fund.

They are two completely different cars. There was nothing wrong at all with the WRX. So much so that the lease on my wife's base model Forester was up so I bought her a Forester XT to get the same power plant and feel while driving the family around. Other than the higher center of gravity and the CVT the FXT feels very similar to the WRX. The S2000 was a car I've always wanted, I also wanted something I could have for the weekends, date nights with the wife, take to the occasional autox/track day without compromising my lone point of transportation. The Fit is also a great car for DDing. With 29 cupholders, great gas mileage, and plenty of room to haul crap around in, plus it came pre dented and scratched so I don't have to worry about soccer moms destroying it anywhere I take it. Now that i have the S2000, the Fit is going to be parked for a few days while I adjust the valves, check the timing chain tensioner, and do some needed maintenance. Also going to do a retrofit with some morimoto d2s projectors.

Honestly I just wanted to have a DD I didn't need to worry about and a fun car for the weekends which I was I sold the WRX. It's capable of doing both of those things; but, I could do it for cheaper and put money back in my pocket with some redundancy. I owned the WRX for just about a year and the amount of scratches and door dings from co-workers and just going to run errands drove me insane. We just moved into the suburbs from Key West and I couldn't believe how much people don't pay attention to their surroundings.

Also, waiting to see what happens with the new CTR. If it looks nice, has decent numbers, etc, I could possibly swap both of these for that but like I said before, it's worth having a second car around where we live.
