A new S2K owner here. Just picked up a 2002 and love it.
The front bumber is perfect and the car was from a state that did not require a front plate. Unfortunately- my state does.

Any recommendation for the best way to mount the front plate?

 

Congrats on the new ride and welcome to here! Your local Honda dealer has a front license plate holder kit - works well and isn't too expensive. There are two small oval shaped knockout plugs in the front bumper to accomodate it.

If you don't like the black plastic, you may want to check out the Rick's plate frame (on www.ricks2k.com).

Rick's is good if you want to use the stock mounts. Otherwise, get creative - people mount their plates inside the front opening and attach to either the top or bottom of the opening - sorry, no pics, but the look is pretty clean.
