Will at some point join the club once house move gets sorted and I've got a garage to keep it in!

But looking in the meantime I have come across a 40K miles AP1 & a 60K miles AP2. They are a similar price. Have never driven one, have owned a Golf R which was very difficult to wrong with and got bored of it so just looking for food for thought on the old AP1 v AP2 debate as a newbie to the club !

Would be getting used as some weekend fun, wouldn't get used on a track but will go on some long road trips

 

There are 20+ years of posts here debating and discussing the differences between the two major generations. Don't expect to have it all summarized and packaged for you in a neat thread. The later cars are better cars as Honda improved them every two years starting in 2002. Some minor differences, some major. Keep in mind these are all at least 11 or 12 year old used cars discarded by their former owner for one reason or another.

You can't find these in my area. Whichever one wasn't bastardized, go for that one. Mine was supercharged, but taken very good care of, made my purchase less remorseful.
