Future S2K owner from Belgium
Hi all,
Just registered here because I always ended up looking at pictures from the Enkei RPF1 thread
My name is Glenn, I'm turning 23 years old and I'm completely in love with an S2K.
I live in Belgium and I currently have a 2005 VW Golf V TDI as a daily driver. Bone stock with 90 BHP except from the 17" VW ClassiXs wheels and H&R -35 mm springs.

Then somewhere around 2011 I got an aircooled vibe and bought an original '62 VW Bug. It began its life in Sweden but I bought it from the third owner in Holland. Since it has RWD I occasionally like to use it

January 2012 I got my first job and I started saving. But then a little bird told me "You only live once!" and I thought it was time for something faster. Friends of mine already had an Mazda MX-5 and without ever driving an MX-5, I bought one. Real bargain for a very decent 1990 MX-5 NA.
I bought it bone stock from an elderly woman in Holland (I live really close to the Belgian-Dutch border) and started enjoying the pleasures of driving RWD. In one year I changed the intake (K&N 57i kit), exhaust, steering wheel (OMP deep dish), soft top (never!!! doing this again) and bought a lot of cheap stock wheels. An MX-5 drifts really good (in wet), although I have an open diff, no LSD.

Occasionally we go with some friends to the Nürburgring Norschleife. It's a 2,5h drive from my home but it's totally worth it! Most amazing track in the world if you ask me

Whenever I can, I drive with the top down. Just so much more fun. Only when it rains hard, I'm obligated to put the top on.
Best bang for the buck imho. In Europe, people always tend to put a BMW E30 on a pedestal but I prefer my little red MX-5.
Somewhere along the way my friends bought other cars. One friend still drives his silver Miata with 150.000 miles on it. Too bad rust made it a lot lighter. In winter, there's a lot of salt on the roads and MX-5's don't really like salt. Another friend uses his red MX-5 as a winter vehicle and drives an Vauxhall VX220 (Opel Speedster) in the summer. Don't know if you guys know that car?
One friend drives a 2005 BMW Z4 2.5i but I saved the best for last... One friend drives a 2001 Honda S2000. However, he had some issues and blew his engine. Recently he changed the engine himself and now the car's back in good shape. He has a Silverstone grey with red interior. Lovely car!
I drove with the BMW, the Vauxhall... but the S2000 blew my mind! The build quality, the balance, VTEC, top down, ... Completely fell for it.
Nowadays I'm still driving the MX-5 as a fun car but the plan is to buy a AP1 PFL S2K by the end of 2013, beginning of 2014.
I hope to gain some info here about the AP1, some tips and tricks and learn about some nice mods.
My ideal S2K: AP1, Monte Carlo Blue, Eibach Pro Kit, AEMV2 and 17" Enkei RPF1. Does someone here have a picture of a Monte Carlo Blue S2K with bronze/gold Enkei RPF1 in 17"?
Some final details: Yes I want to lower my cars but the roads in Belgium are really shit. We pay a lot of road taxes but I don't know what happens with that money. After winter the roads are full of potholes, so this time of year it seems like we're all drunk while we're only trying to keep our cars in decent shape without thrashing the tires, wheels, suspension...
So when I ended up here and saw these pictures of low S2K's on perfect Californian roads... You might call me a bit jealous
In Belgium there's also an annual test for cars but it's really strict. Belgium is not really car minded. Not at all. It's also a diesel minded country.
Basically I live in a shitty country with shitty wetter and shitty laws but in the end I really like living here
I hope this was an OK thread to start with? As I said before, hope to learn here a lot and read about S2000's. I think I viewed the entire Enkei RPF1 thread. Twice.
Thanks!

2.5 hrs from the green hell. I'm envious. We have our own crappy roads out here in CA where you could bust your tire and bend your rim. I'm lucky to live in an area where the roads are all paved and mostly smooth.
I hope you get that S you want. It's hard to stop grinning in this car.

Thanks! Hope so too.
Time flew by!
Did some nice evening cruises.

Went drifting in Weeze (Germany) few months ago. Least amount of power of all the driftcars, no LSD... But the MX-5 did great.

Here a small video from 1 lap.

Before someone asks: the lights are supposed to go like that. It's just a small mod
Then the really good news:
I bought a S2000. From 2000, first owner, 70.000 kilometers, Silverstone with red interior.
Bought it at a Honda dealer, he gave me 2 years of warranty of the engine and 1 year of warranty on all the other mechanical parts
However, the garage is closed for three weeks (I bought the car just 1 day before then went on vacation) just until next week. Sucks to be me! Waiting is hard, I'm going crazy.
Garage only needs to fix the front bumper and throw out the aftermarket alarm. After that the car is ready for me to pick it up.
MX-5 is sold, new owner is picking it up on monday. I still have to go to the technical control before I can officially sell it, so today I'm driving the Mazda one last time.
Luckily for me, it's a very nice 28°C in Belgium today.
