Getting an s2k / Introduction
Hi s2ki community, im a 15 almost 16 year old from Australia and im looking at purchasing a s2000 (which will be my first car).
I have wanted an s2000 since i can remember, and im fortunate and blessed to be able to get one as my first car.
Im just wondering are there any certain things i should inspect when i go and look at them before buying one. And since this is a s2000 community i thought this is probably one of the best places to go to for questions regarding my dream car.
Also do s2000 clear speed bumps easily?
Thanks guys

at 15, you should read every thing you can find on this website... there are far too many things to list and read up on, to answer the simple, what do you need to look for..
and no, the S2000 does not enjoy speed bumps.. although it should clear at stock heights... always be thoughtful of them... good luck.. and welcome...

i can see the horror story to come with in the first month of him owning it.
If you do go easy and dont think you are the king of the world with the s2k tail happy monster...one mistake and you can say bye bye
in other words learn the car before you go wicked. and the s2000 does carry the typical honda reliability.

Im going to be responsible and not be a hoon and do stupid things while im still knew to the driving world. Also in Australia you have to have a parent or guardian in the car with you until you have 120 hours driving experience which includes 20 hours night driving. Cheers for the heads up as well guys i very much appreciate it
unfortunately I agree with Say Chi Sin Lo 100%. the way people drive here in TX, my kids (who are at least 13 years out from driving) will be getting a Hummer or Tahoe for their first car (or something big and safe)
doesn't matter how safe you are, no one is saying you're a bad or reckless driver, there are so many idiots and horrible drivers out there that I worry about...
but if your parents are good with giving you a S, best of luck to you!
Yeas i guess it's a bit much for an inexperienced driver but i was going to go with a car that was
older and slower, but believe it or not my parents want me to get an s2000.
My dad thinks its a good idea to get one im not totally sure why but whatever we'll see how it unfolds
