is this a good buy?
gods of s2k i need a little help deciphering this carfax... lookin at the carfax would 20k be a good price for this s2k? the only thing i find kinda off is that it had 1500 miles before it was even registered .does it mean it was a demo car? any advice will be appreciated since ill be looking at the car this weekend and itll take me 2 hrs to get there. the car supposedly is all stock and clean, it belongs to the 2nd owner.

I see what your saying (ie:1500 miles before being registered) - - could of possibly have been a demo for a management person at the dealer, no way to really know I guess unless you can contact the dealer - - -
I think it doesn't really matter if the car looks and drives good, and you can get if for a good price - - IMO 20K would be about as high as you want to go, you might do better, it's all a game, how good is your poker face
FYI - - I paid 25K for my 2005 w/ 6000 miles
good luck

The carfax looks ok in my mind. I would say look at cars.com in the same area to compare prices. That site will be able to give you a really good comparison of cars, miles and price in that area and you can see what else is out there and use as leverage.
$20k isn't horrible, maybe on the high side of the range for the year and mileage. I just saw a MY03 w/13k miles for $20.9k. 3 owners is a bit of a concern but you should be able to tell if the car has been abused. I paid $17.5k for a MY02 w/38k miles.

You're local too so you can come check it out. I'm in San Jose.

I just purchased a 2003 with 64,000 miles in Texas for $17,200. It was a one owner on a four-year lease. The car was in great shape, but had the higher mileage. I have seen 2003s anywhere from $16,500 to $22,500. I think the Carfax looks good and would not be concerned with the 1500 miles. The guys at the dealership were probably test driving it allot. The lower the milage the higher the price. Make sure you look over the car over and under.
Just a bit high IMO. I would consider a compression test... over-rev damage may not show up for a long time after the event. Read from here down, Billman is the Expert!
