Default Good bye Evo... Hello S2000!

Hello ALL
Just traded 05 Evo VIII and got the 03 S2 (blk).
Daamn this ride is tight.... Now I know what honda meant by "one with car".
... okay it doesn't have the torque of the Evo.. but I'm just loving it.

Finally convinced my wife that I need the S2000 or I'm going to die

Overall, I'm glad I did it.... I wanted the S2000 since it came out on 2000.... wow 6 years in the making.

I regret that I didn't do this sooner... You lucky bastards! Some of you had it more than 6 years!

Well, if you haven't done so already... trade your ride in for S2000!

Welcome aboard. I am curious, how does the EVO handles compare to the S?

well, the evo handled very well. But S2000 just "feels" lot tighter.... I don't know maybe its the cabin (with top up)... I just feel so much "one" with the car. I do not miss it at all... then I only had the S2 for few hours now..
Although I have a question... when I start the car up, there seems to be a bit of jerk(?) or how can I say it... different then other Honda cars? Is it just me or is it the mounting of the engine makes the start up bit different? I don't know, but I like it... like a little beast is waking up or something.

Welcome, stim.

There are tons of Evo converts around the board. And, actually quite a few concurrently have both. Evo's a cool car, but really not intended for the same kind of driving. There's no better place to be on a windy, mountain road than an S.

As for the jerk, hmm, I'm not sure what that is. Mine has always started smoothly.

As an MY03 owner, by the way, you need to carefully watch the oil on your dipstick. Our MY00-MY03 cars have an appetite for the stuff (normal) which varies with each engine. Check it every fill up to be safe. Enjoy.

EVO convert here as well. I had a fully built RS for the track and it was a monster. Ended up taking a promotion at work that brought me to florida so I sold off the daily driver and the evo to eventually find one vehicle.

I settled for a gently used 01 w/40k on the clock. The 'vert is great in florida, the handling is close to the evo and the lack of torque keeps me outta silly tickets.

I'm loving the car to death, the comparison of the two is one you can't really make though.

I'll upload some S photos soon but for now here's my evo....last dyno before selling it made 328whp/318wtq and that was without a boost controller.

Here's some info on it..

- Dynoflash custom road-tune.
- Buschur Racing Turbo-back w/ BR muffler & test-pipe

- Hotchkis 24mm Rear Sway Bar
- Project Mu Front & Rear pads
- Motul RBF600 Brake Fluid
- Stainless lines front & rear
- Extra stock set of wheels shroud with Toyo RA1's

Exterior

- I go fast & have fun -- no looks.

Interior / Car Audio

- No radio (it's an RS the way it should be)
- GSC Harness Bar (black)
- Solid Camera Mount
- 4 point (have 5th strap) GeForce Cam-lock Harnesses (red)

Hehe... did you get red S2000? I had black evo and just HAD to have black S2000.
I'll definitely watch the oil level since its the lifeblood of VTEC.
