Default Good DD?

I do not own an S2K, yet. I love everything about the car or at least as much as you can love from peeking through the window on the dealer lot, but I wanted to know what you guys think of the car as a daily driver. I don't need much room for storage so that is not a concern, but what I mean is overall fit and finish, reliablity (I know it's a Honda but you know), Cost to own and repair, Avg. MPG.....etc.

Thanks,

Chris

depends where you live, weather, etc. fit and finish are second to none, reliability (like you said, its a honda so you dont have to worry too much), repairs and maintanence shouldnt be too bad.

Its not a very comfortable car; its loud, bumpy, and too fast to have fun in traffic or long commutes. I would buy one for a 2nd car, probably not a dd

I use mine as a daily driver, at least until the weather gets really bad around here. I think it's great. I find it refreshing to jump into the S after a long day at the office and do my 20 minute commute.

That said, the car is small, has little space for junk, and I end up going out of my way to find good parking spaces for the car at work (which is a non-issue with my beater).

You can certainly use the car year-round, but I would opt to have a winter beater for days where you just don't want to risk salt/sand/rock damage to the car.

I completely agree.

I use mine's as a daily driver. At first, I thought it would be really impracticle but it's not. 80% of the time it's just me in the car. I throw everything else I need in the trunk which is pretty big. I like the deep boxed trunk. I can put boxes of pizza in there and it won't slide around.

MPG isnt bad. I never actually looked at how many miles to the gallon that I get but it's pretty comparable to my Accord sedan. I used to pump the Accord once a week and I pump the s2000 once a week too.

I would keep another car on the side. Sometimes, I get tired of the small space and manual transmission.

I disagree. My daily commute is 23 miles one way, and I hate driving a 92 Ford Ranger during the winter.

The S2000 is a blast and perfect for daily use....there are many days that are bad at work and I simply push the start button, put the top down...and all is forgotten. I can not imagine having anything else for a primary car.

My golf clubs fit in it...I get about 27 mpg, and the regular maintenence is not bad all.

I say go for it....there is truly nothing like it.

i use it for DD. 37 miles each way.

it's one of the least practical dd's you can buy. gas tank's small. barely any storage space. unforgiving ride. small cabin. no functional cup holder. tires go fast and are expensive. loud ride. lots of wind when the top's down.

whatever.

if you want a practical car, get a civic. if you want a fun, unpractical car, get the S. I did.
