Default Is this a good price?

The baby is a 2005 Sebring Silver with Red/Black interior. The car is bone stock, and has no accessories except for a factory alarm and a set wheel locks; it has ~6000 on the odometer. Basically flawless condition (i.e. no rock chips, no dings, no accident, no issues with the top, clean carfax, etc.) and no mechanical problems.

This car is coming from a nearby Honda dealer and has extended warranty (not that the warranty really matters much anyways). The previous owner is a middle-aged gentleman (~40 to 50years old). From my understanding, the car was sold to the dealer with around 5000 miles on the odometer, and the salesman himself claimed he put on about 1000 on it.

The sale price is 26,800. It looks a little higher than I expected, as I was expecting to pay the average of trade-in and private-party sale price from KBB. KBB quoted 26.8K for private party and 24.2K or something for trade-in, averaging out to be 25.5K.

I was originally looking for this color combo for a slightly higher mileage 2004 model (say with 15,000 miles), so that would run the price down to around 22.5K to 23.5K.

So, my question is: Am I paying too much for this? Or am I just expecting too much (in terms of finding a lower price)?

I have until Monday or so to decide. I tried digging around for older threads, but there was no directly comparable situation ... Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

P.S. Also, please let me know if this is not the right forum to post this. Thanks.

It's a Honda Certified.

I guess I might as well look around for a new 05. Not sure if they still have the Sebring + Red/Black color left.

how did the salesman put on 1k miles by himself?? was he vtec-ing it every day?

finding a new 05 nowadays is pretty hard, especially from a local dealer. but it's definitely worth a shot.

honda certified always runs higher than any price you can find on kbb (like private party excellent condition). if you can buy the car for $25k and it's the color combo you want, i'd say buy it.
