Default Greetings!

Hey all I've been lurking on this board for quite some time and finally decided that I should register!

I'm currently saving for what will be either a late 2007 model or early 2008 model purchase (hence my forum name) because I have heard rumors that the 2008 may be the last model of this fine vehicle.

I started my driving experience with a '93 Geo Storm

bought a '89 Jeep Wrangler Islander edition
it was great but started to break on me.

I always loved hondas and in 2001 I bought a year old 2000 Honda Civic EX Silver
This car was great but what I couldn't find/afford at the time was a civic si that I wanted.

When I picked up the car I saw a brand new 2000 S2000 in Silver and I instantly fell in love that was about 7 years ago and man I've always wanted one.

I then traded my Silver '00 Civic for a great used '99 FBP Civic Si with only 16k miles on the clock. This was in 2003. I babied it like no other and then last October.... with only 40k pampered miles on the original ticker it was stolen and stripped by a gutless POS....

Since then I have driven a 91 Acura Integra RS.

Recently, I finally got a job I can really be proud of and I'll be able to afford an S2000 so I'm currently saving for a Grand Prix White edition!

Wish me luck as my money saving has only just begun!!!

My girlfriend is so funny how she puts up with my obsession for this amazing vehicle! I always buy any magazine with an S2000 on the cover or even if there is an article inside. I'm sure you can all relate.

Well thanks for reading my driving story and I hope to join you guys this winter as a new S2000 owner!

As far as that goes, take your time, those rumors have been going around for years... wait until your good and ready... not that you haven't waited long enough

Thanks for the support you guys! It's nice to feel welcome!

With all the controversy of the new S2000 CR I was looking into that but I have decided I'd be crazy to spend $10k more than a regular new MY08. So it's going to be GPW for me. The down payment fund has begun and I've started my journey!

Now let's just hope I can keep my 91 Acura Integra running long enough! *knock wood* It's got 167k miles and is running very strong (I love honda motors!)

If everything works out I'll be a new owner in October or November.

Do you guys think I'd get a better deal on MY08 if I wait until around the holidays time Thanksgiving-New Years? I guess I'll search for buying experiences but if anyone has any advice on how I can get as close to invoice as possible please shed some light. I also kind of wonder if GPW will be a more rare color this year. Hmm... lot to think about and read up on. Anyway Thanks all!

I'd look for any new 07's left, since the new 08's will be around. Much cheaper... I think 08 will be the same as the 07's just the CR will be offered.

It turns out that I'm going to be getting a NFR MY07 with 50 miles next week! I thought there was no way I'd be approved but I'll be in an S before June! Luckily I found terms I could stand and I had expected a purchase price of 35k but I got for 31,5 not too bad.

Ugh I knew it was too good to be true.... 35,599 out the door price...

Should I tell him that he's crazy? I need to negotiate and I want to make the purchase before May 31.....

What do you guys think is a fair out the door... take into consideration that NJ is 7% sales tax grr
