Default hello

hello to all the members of s2ki,
i am a new member to this site and this is my introduction. my s2000 (actually my wife's summer car) is an 03 model in gran prix white. we got our car in 05 after searching off and on for about a year. we are very picky with our rides and tend to do a lot of research before buying. the one thing we wanted was a white one. we live in ohio and a white S in excellent condition seemed to be a hard thing to find. we ended up driving to north carolina to buy this car. it had 3000 miles on it and was and still is in xcellent condition. bought it as a toy for my wife who had to go through cancer at a young age. only live once, so we figured we better do what we could to enjoy ourselves. the car is stock. have visions of a supercharger, but just can't justify the money at this point. not many s2000's in our neck of the woods. still have yet to see another white one on the road. had hoped to get more life out of the rear tires as they were changed at 13000 miles, but thats life. would love to get a different set of rims for the car, but it seems to be hard to find the appropriate size rims with the correct offset. i don't like to change things drastically and would also like to stay with the 16 inch rims. maybe i will learn something off this site. as for now the car is covered and in storage until may. glad to see all the enthusiasm for the s2000's and hope to get involved with some local events. enough of my rambling. nomlas

Hello! Welcome to the board!

You can't go wrong with an S2000. IMO, 2003 is the best year. And get that cover off your car in April and come meet us at WTD.

welcome

note:check fluids often,AP1's gobble up oil like a mofo.

ditch the 16" wheels and get some 18",I would recommend some BBS LM'S.
forget the Stupidcharger...if speed is what you're looking for then just get a faster car.

peace

I'm sure you'll find out whatever you need to know about the S on this site, if not feel free to ask.

nomlas, I'm all to familiar with that scenario, I had to trade in the Cessna for an "S"... glad things are going well for your wife. Welcome to the site!
Where in Ohio?... you gotta drive the "S" down Rt. 26 (SE corner of Ohio by Marietta). Folks talk about WTD, but this ride is WTD X 9, and right in your back yard!!!! Bet ya can't wait for spring

So what is WTD through Marietta? Would love to do a local event or get together in the summer, just am unfamiliar with whats in my area. We are in the Akron area. The guy we bought our car from was actually clearing out his garage to make room for another Cessna. His yard adjoined the local airstrip, so he took me up for a flight when we went down to pick up the car. So what is the difference between being a guest on this site and being a member? I registered but see that I come up as a guest. Just curious since I am new.

WTD (Wake the Dragon) and Ohio Rt. 26 (Near Marietta; do a mapquest) are two different things. The dragon runs for 11 miles, situated on the NC/TN border SSE of Knoxville. I have not been there yet, but I think there is a meet (WTD is the name of this event) scheduled on April 13th
