Hello everyone... hopefully making myself welcome
Hello! I am currently in Southern California area right now (hometown) but I am located up north in the Berkeley area.
Well, I've been wanting an s2k for quite awhile now and I'm pretty sure I'll be getting one by the end of this year (used AP1) possibly an '01 or '02 Silverstone since they're affordable for me at least nowadays.
I currently own an 2002 SSM Acura RSX at the moment, but will be making the transition onto an s2k (I've driven an 01 before and I loved it) real soon.
Just want to get a head start on the info by joining.
I can't wait to join the crew, glad to have found this forum!

edit: I'm sorry I didn't see the sticky above! I just noticed it right now... I'm actually trying to get used to this forum and I'm starting to "scan" over things retardedly.
Sorry, please lock this..

Although I own an AP2, the info on this site convinced me that if you want an AP1, then an 02/03 is the better car, but 01/02 can be the better deal.
I'm pretty sure prices will drop a tad bit more towards the end of the year. Hopefully it sways to my advantage.

I personally feel that 03 is the best bargain for a used car. 03s are really abundant and are considered a little older due to the minor face lift (so their prices tend to get bid down), yet you get the nice refinements like glass top, etc. I believe a lot of minor issues (like gear grinding, etc.) were resolved as well.
04 would be nice if you are in for an AP2, since there is really no difference between 04 and 05. However, the price difference between 03 and 04 is a little bit more than that of, say, 02 & 02 or 04 & 05.
Good luck man!

There were some significant changes when MY02 was introduced. Agreed, not as significant as the MY04 introduction, but still important. To some folks, the glass rear window (vs. plastic in prior years) is a consideration. Also, the carpeting on the center tunnel was replaced with a nice vinyl piece. There were some other things too, but not worth mentioning.
Mechanically speaking, though, there was an upgrade to 4-hole oil "banjo" bolts that took place mid-MY02. The early MY02s and previous have the original 2-hole bolts (which some suspect led to #4 cylinder failure, but which was never really confirmed). Finally, there was a spark plug recall done late in MY02 which all cars *should've* gotten, but someone purchasing a used MY00-MY02 should double-check (or just do).
MY03 is essentially exactly the same as MY02, with none of those concerns in prior paragraph.
