Hello Guys, Need your help
Hey everyone, i just picked up a berlina black 2001 s2000 w/ about 69200 miles. The car came with ap2 v1 wheels, ap2 headlights, ap2 tail lights, and ap2 front bumper. It also has Tein RA Coilovers on it and it has an exhaust on it, i looked at the badge underneath, and it said spugen. Sounds cheap, rep of a Mugen and Spoon exhaust i'm guessing...? Now here is what i need your help with, on rev down or rpm drop, the meter seems to go down too far and the oil pressure light comes on or oil light. Oil level is fine by the way. Then the rpm goes back up to about 900 or 1k on idle. Anyone know what it may be? If it's something serious, the guy i bought it from said i can exchange back and get my money back.

does it idle really choppy or low? do you know when the last valve adjustment was performed? did you get a compression test done before the purchase? Every little bit of info helps to narrow problems.

Valve adjustment was done a couple days ago. Also changed the spark plugs to NGK Laser Iridium. It doesnt really idle low, just on rpm drop, it seems to rev down a little too far and then the oil light comes on and the engine shakes a little as well. As for compression test, no i did not run one. But i also got the car diagnosed yesterday, and the shop said all the sensors were good and not loose. Wires werent messed with. Oil pump is fine.

Compression tests and leakdown tests are very easy and inexpensive.. I would personally start there, if there is a major problem at least you would know about it, rather than further damaging the car and so on, then at the worst you can get your money back and show them the results if necessasary..

Oh ok, well, looks like im gonna head back to the shop tomorrow for a compression test. The guy i bought the car from told me he hasnt used the car for about a 1 1/2 years. So i dont know if that makes a huge impact on the car. And i could tell he hasn't used it for a while because i found spider webs in the engine bay and in the stock airbox, but only on the cover. So i ended up taking the cover off

Hey everyone, well i didn't have the chance today to take the car to the shop, so i'm going to take it tomorrow. But the car does feel like it is losing compression....car doesn't really seem to pull that hard. I haven't even hit vtec since i bought the car....
