Hello from a new AP1 owner in DFW
Hello all, I picked up my first S2000 this weekend - a 2002 black on black with 64,000 miles on it.
I used to daily drive a 2002 Miata LS (145,000 miles w/no major issues) until my kids came along, so I had to give up it up to my dad (and finally brother-in-law). I was getting the itch for another convertible again with the fall weather coming around, so I began my search about a month ago and found a great deal on one. I used to say that the Miata was my all-time favorite car...until I test drove a couple of AP1's and an AP2. In my opinion, it blows the NB away (not sure how it compares to the NC's). 9000rpm is pretty intoxicating...
Anyways, I plan on cruising top down as much as I can in the Texas weather (especially in the winter with the heater blasting). On "bad" weather days or when I need to truck the family around, my E85 powered GR STi still works great as a "family car". My hope is that I can keep both cars in good enough shape to pass onto my 2 kids (lucky them!).
This site has a wealth of information; I really appreciate all the great contributions by the "veterans". Thanks!

Congrats it looks great!
2000 ext black/int red w/ 59k miles - negotiated to $12,500 (the exterior was flawless, but I wasn't a fan of the red int...personal preference)
2005 ext blue/int blue w/ 67k miles - negotiated to $13,500 (AMAZING deal but I wasn't a fan of the blue on blue...personal preference)
Good luck on your search!

Sure, I paid $11,500 from a private party. There were 2 others that I was looking at in DFW:

Thanks! it IS very solid and reminds me of my first S experience almost 7 years ago in 2004 when I got to teach a good friend how to drive stick in his newly purchased MY02. I'll never forget how solid the structure of the S felt compared to my DC2 Integra. This 05 let's me relive that and it's the same color as his is!
