Hello From a New Owner
I just wanted to introduce myself as a new S2000 owner. I have always been a gear head since working as a young engineer for Peugeot and Alfa-Romeo in Austria. Have had 18 cars so far, MBs, BMWs, Volvos. VWs etc. I have always liked the S2000 but the used prices were just too high for the cars worth attention.
Couple of weeks ago, browsing Craigslist I noticed local 2000 red S2000 for sale, advertised as outstanding condition for very reasonable price. Skeptically I contacted the owner and the next Sunday we with my wife (not a gear head but supportive in my madness) we drove to see the car.
We were greeted by extremely nice 73 year old gentlemen and his wife. He opened his garage and... Oh my God! Inside was sitting a pristine S2000, bright red with 33K miles on it. Looking like it just came our of the factory floor. Needless to say, I drove it, checked everything out and wrote a check for it.
So there you go!
Oil and filter was changed and this week I am doing MT, differential and brake fluids. Interestingly, in 3 days of driving I spun the car twice. I have been warned about its idiosyncrasies but still this has never happened to me in 40 years of driving. So I started looking more carefully and discovered that the rear tires are the wrong type and size. So today I had 2 new correct tires installed in the rear. Next is most likely alignment.
I have no plans to modify or race the car. Just fun, fun, fun...
Thank you to the newsgroup for all the valuable knowledge I have gained reading through all the threads.
