Hello from Sunny Cape Town
Hi All
Proud owner of a 2006 ap2 here. Our spec is the euro spec so still the banzai 8900 rpm with the new chassis.
I've already gotten so much from this site and have so many more questions. Especially about the handling of the s2k as i LOVE touge driving
and have a background in drifting, motorsport and driver training.

Car is abit tatty
Needs odds and ends and paint job isn't very neat. but I got it at a GREAT price so I don't mind spending.
So far I've sorted out the suspension (thanks to this site), got the light sprayer thingie, and fitted some audio (it already had some kit in so didn't cost much)
The purist in me is offended but the ghetto part of me loves the great sound.
The wheel alignment was WAY out as the car was in an accident before, hence the tattiness. The "shoulders" holding the concentric bolts were flat so i had those fixed.
I just took the car for a brisk test drive on my favourite twisyt road and I have to say having driven the 86 pretty much on the limit on a public road I don't think I'd dare with the S2000... the sheer ability of the car astonishes me.
The way the dampers work to make sure the tires ALWAYS grip, and when they do let go its not much drama and pretty predictable..
I'm not sure what happens AFTER the grip lets go completely and its been almost 4 years since I raced a rear wheel drive so I'm going to ease into this experience.
I'm keen to know your experience with the S2000 on the limit handling at higher speeds.
Thanks for the welcome guys

Took the S2k and my friends RS4 for a leisurly cruise yesterday. Hit some "canyon" roads later and on a corner that i know well I took the S2k to the limit for the first time...
It was, to quote Frank the tank: "GLORIOUS!"
This car really reminds me of my old single seater. TONS of mechanical grip. completely exploitable and when at the limit expect just the slightest amount of slip. Not much correction required.
I've heard all these horror stories about the S2k but can only assume that's all AP1 stuff. Other than the electric steering being abit numb and resisting the urge to over correct, if I let the car rotate when the back slides and just wait, all ends well.
I love this car
