Hello all, I just purchased my first Honda, a beautiful 2002 Sebring Silver Metallic S2000. I have owned a few sports cars in the past from the most similar to my S2000 being a 2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder with a 2ZZ engine swap and the latest car that I sold recently being a 1993 Mazda RX-7.
I chose the AP1 S2000 because of the simple and beautiful lines, iconic engine, drop top fun, and (hopefully) better build quality and reliability than my RX-7. I looked for a while for a bone stock 2002-2003 AP1 that I could restore to as close to showroom condition as possible. The fun part is that I will be taking my 13 year old daughter to Chicago with me next week to pick up the car and break it in with a road trip back to our home in Houston. I have already purchased maintenance items to do a diff fluid change, transmission fluid change, spark plugs, oil change, new tires, and new cabin and engine air filters. I will also be doing a paint correction and ceramic coating myself.
I look forward to maintaining and driving the car and have really appreciated the thorough writeups that I have found on this forum that will help me along the way.
Congrats and hello from Austin. That intake is terrible lol. I’d almost recommend installing something different for the 1000 mile road trip. You’ll probably be fine though . Enjoy the car, I bought mine in Toronto and drove home it was quite the experience.
Congrats, neighbor! (Louisiana native here). Awesome pickup and welcome to the site.
I considered an FD before settling on another S2000. The rotory and my lack of knowledge for it scared me away. Still one of my all time favorites...my mom owned an FB and FC when I was growing up so I'll probably still wind up owning one at some point in my life.
